Our new Chief Executive Officer will take over a charity that is financially stable with strong governance. ClementJames has an excellent track record in fundraising and despite pandemic constraints has continued to raise sufficient funds to meet expected expenditure of around £1.2m for the year to 31 August 2022 and maintain reserves of around 6 months of running costs. Funding comes from a variety of sources: our local authority, corporates, trusts and foundations, and individual donors. Our former Chief Executive Officer has built a strong senior leadership team and management structure that are key to the responsiveness and effectiveness of the charity. The Trustee Board is experienced, active and supportive of the staff and volunteers at ClementJames.
The Trustees of the charity are now looking for a new Chief Executive Officer. As the incoming Chief Executive Officer, you will
- formulate a strategic vision for how the charity can grow and continue to empower individuals in marginalised communities who face challenging circumstances
- have the ambition to shape an organisation that is described as a local organisation with national impact
- drive forward fundraising for our ambitious capital project to expand and adapt our premises to the growing needs of the community
- assess the charity’s future provision in view of the damaging impact of the pandemic on socio-economic inequalities and consider whether new partnerships and programmes are required to supplement our vital range of education, employment and wellbeing services and ensure the maximum impact for our programmes
- influence and engage with a vibrant local community in a committed and practical way with the aim of improving residents’ life chances
- have knowledge of the North Kensington community or a similarly marginalised and diverse community in the UK
Our Diversity & Inclusion Strategy supports a culture of inclusion, and a strong ethos within the charity is underpinned by the shared values of Teamwork, Compassion, Aspiration, Quality and Talent. These values guide everything the charity does, and we would expect that you will share our deep commitment to these values.
Our website contains more information on our work, our staff and the residents of our community. Further background can be found in our Impact Report and in our Report and Accounts (both on our website).
If you believe that everyone should have the opportunity to realise their potential and live fulfilled lives, and you would like to lead a dynamic and innovative charity that aims to achieve this goal, then we welcome your application.
