CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Full-time.
DEPARTMENT: Procurement, Group Finance and Operations.
LOCATION: The role can be based in Bristol, London, Salford or Cardiff with some hybrid working. If based outside of London, there will be some regular travel to London required.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £115,000 - £125,000pa depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Are you an experienced Head of Supplier Management & Risk, seeking a new challenge?
We have an exciting new role within our Commercial Procurement structure which will work closely with key stakeholders to manage Key manage supplier relationships, risk and assurance to deliver resilient performance, innovation and responsible value across the BBC.
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will be accountable for delivering resilient supplier ecosystems through robust frameworks, providing board ready assurance across the supplier lifecycle. In addition, you will evolve our approach to Sustainable Procurement and Modern Slavery.
This is a key role with profile, real impact and influence, leading the design, build and implementation of this new part of a transforming Commercial Procurement function from the outset, working with Enterprise suppliers who keep the BBC on air!

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
As Head of Supplier Management & Risk you will:

Design, build and implement a BBC Enterprise level Supplier Management program, aligning with UK Corporate code, which will include:
- Managing Tier 1 Supplier relationships, with measurable performance, risk, value and innovation outcomes.
- Operating supplier-lifecycle controls and remediation logs; ensure evidence quality for internal control testing and audit.
- Owning Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) policy, risk tiering and thresholds across pre-contract due diligence and in-life monitoring.
- Embed domain controls (cyber/privacy, financial, sanctions/KYC, ESG, resilience, H&S) into sourcing, onboarding and contracts.
- Embed Responsible Procurement including our Modern Slavery programme; drafting publication-ready inputs for annual Modern Slavery Act statement and ensuring that Social Value and Carbon requirements are core to sourcing criteria and contract KPIs; track delivery through dashboards.
- Lead and coach specialist team; standardise playbooks, templates and automation to scale SM/TPRM across divisions.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Relevant experience of leading the design and delivery of robust supplier management frameworks, in a regulated environment driving governance and value realisation across contracts.
- Demonstrable board-facing assurance experience, including evidence packs, controls testing and audit remediation, supported by strong analytical capability to optimise supplier performance and KPIs/KRIs.
- Proven ownership of Tier 1 supplier portfolios, delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, risk and innovation.
- A track record of building strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships (Procurement, Risk, Audit, Legal, InfoSec, Finance) and operating effectively across complex, multi-category and multi-geography environments.
- Experience of delivering scalable Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), including due diligence, monitoring, incident response and regulatory reporting, plus Modern Slavery Act reporting, with expertise in Procurement tools (e.g. Ariba/Icertis), governance standards and ESG requirements.
