LOCATION: Salford (Hybrid- 3 x office days)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,000 - £35,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Children's and Education are looking for a Researcher to join a team taking BBC Bitesize onto the road to deliver careers advice and inspiration to 110,000 secondary school pupils. The tour will take place in schools across the UK and deliver 4 x hour long sessions in each school, hosted by BBC Talent, and will feature a panel of inspiring guests from a variety of industries who will change perceptions, inspire ambition and celebrate aspiration.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Tour Researchers will work closely with the Tour AP and the Producer to inspire and educate the audience while complementing and promoting the Bitesize brand and enhancing the reputation, reach and impact of the BBC and BBC Education.
- Help devise and deliver content for secondary school audiences.
- Ensure editorial standards are met, production values kept high and that safeguarding procedures are followed.
- You will assist the Tour AP in writing scripts, biogs and briefing contributors.
- Conduct thorough background checks to ensure all BBC safeguarding standards are met.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience creating and delivering engaging educational content for young audiences, including scriptwriting
  • Strong understanding of TV, film, and creative talent that resonates with secondary school students
  • Effective communicator with experience liaising with external partners (schools, educators, businesses)
  • Proven experience working with children and young people
  • Knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines; willingness to complete required DBS check

    DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
  • Basic editing skills via Premiere Pro is advantageous, but not essential.
  • This role will require a lot of travel and working away from home. Therefore, a full and clean UK driving licence is desirable.
