Video Channel Editor (Osprey) - 24 month fixed term
The opportunity
Bloomsbury Publishing is home to Osprey Publishing, the world-leading military history publisher. We're launching a premium longform YouTube channel that brings Osprey's extensive catalogue of campaigns, tactics and historical analysis to life through engaging documentary-style video.
We're looking for a fixed term Video Channel Editor to help support the delivery of high-quality video content as the channel moves from pilot phase to launch and beyond. Working closely with colleagues across audio, editorial and marketing, you'll play a central role in transforming Osprey's trusted publishing expertise into compelling content for a global audience.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced video editor to join a growing area of the business and help shape a new digital publishing format from the ground up.
The role
The Video Channel Editor will sit at the centre of video production for Osprey's new YouTube channel, supporting content from script through to publication.
This is a practical, hands-on role focused on producing engaging longform video content within an established editorial framework. Working with existing source material and in-house subject experts, you'll be responsible for editing videos, sourcing and sequencing visual assets, coordinating elements of production, and supporting the successful publication of content.
This is an opportunity to help establish a new digital publishing format within a globally recognised list. You’ll work closely with experienced editorial and audio colleagues, contributing to a growing area of the business and helping build a scalable, long-term content channel.
Knowledge, skills and experience
We're looking for a capable and creative video editor with strong storytelling instincts and an interest in factual or educational content. You will be comfortable working with existing material, managing multiple deadlines and collaborating with colleagues across different disciplines.
Essential:
- Experience editing video content for YouTube or similar digital platforms
- Strong working knowledge of video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or equivalent
- Ability to create clear, engaging narratives through editing and pacing
- Experience adapting existing written or research-based material into video content
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desirable:
- Experience producing documentary, educational or explainer-style content
- Basic motion graphics or animation skills
- Familiarity with YouTube Studio and YouTube publishing workflows
- An interest in history, particularly military history

The role is a full-time, permanent position.
Salary per annum: £30,750 - £36,400 depending on skills and experience
The role is based at our London or Oxford office (50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP or Kemp House, Oxford, OX2 9PH) on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Tuesday and Thursday.

This position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
