PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £26,000 - £29,000 on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.Plus London Weighting Allowance of £5,441. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This is a 12 month Fixed term Contract.

This is a key support role sitting with our Ethical Trading Team, and will work closely with the Senior Advisor, Ethical Trading and Head of Ethics and Compliance to help to support the day to day management of the Ethical Trading programme and maintain its effectiveness.

The role will include supporting suppliers and licensees to improve ethical performance within their supply chains and ensure timely approval of suitable factories to manufacture BBC branded products, in particular Children’s merchandise.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The Ethical Team sits within the wider BBC Studios Regulatory Affairs Team whose role it is to ensure that the BBC Studios’ commercial activities meet legal, regulatory and policy compliance requirements. The Regulatory Affairs Team consists of specialist subject matter experts who advise on compliance with the BBC Code of Conduct, Editorial Standards, Data Protection, Ethical Policy, and Competition and Market separation matters in accordance with the criteria set out in the BBC’s Charter & Agreement.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Manage the flow of factory audits, review sheets and assessment communications to/from licensees, suppliers, and internal colleagues including BBC Studios Licensing Teams.
  • Maintain and update the ethical database, send and process reminders for data updates, follow-up/ verification audits and renewal audits to internal colleagues and licensees/suppliers.
  • Review ethical audits and Employment Profile Assessments.
  • Assist with queries that arise from internal colleagues/licensees/suppliers
  • Assist with audit reviews as directed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Ethical Policy Team and maintain a comprehensive filing system.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Ethical Trading Programme by providing crucial administrative support including review of factory audits and the timely approval of suitable factories for manufacturing BBC Branded goods.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role,data management or analytical role
  • Proven experience managing and coordinating large volume of data
  • Strong analytical ability in particular the ability to understand and challenge information in ethical factory audits.
  • Experience using databases and using SEDEX systems or equivalent
  • Good/intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of liaising and communication with external third party interaction
  • Experience Identifying risks in accordance with policy standards
