We are committed to providing a working and learning environment that is fair, respectful and free from unlawful discrimination.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Quality Governance Officer who is dedicated to ensuring that the University delivers excellent standards of academic quality. The post is central to the Quality Team, which has overall responsibility for the University’s academic quality assurance and standards processes in support of AUB’s new strategy.

We need a motivated and enthusiastic individual, able to build internal and external relationships, and who has a keen eye for detail. You will be comfortable reading detailed documentation and drafting communications, and it is essential that you have an enquiring mind, which enables you to take on challenges and develop innovative and workable solutions. Most importantly, you will need the ability to deliver those solutions to set timescales, with high levels of accuracy.

You should be an excellent communicator, and your writing skills in particular should be of a very high standard. We need someone who is organised; able to manage and work well under pressure; and who can prioritise their workload and that of a staff member.

Experience of working in an educational Quality or Higher Education environment might be an advantage as the post-holder will be quickly expected to become a source of expertise on AUB’s quality processes and able to provide advice and guidance to academic colleagues on procedure; but your proactive approach and imagination in developing creative solutions to problems are paramount. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

It is expected that you will be highly competent in working with digital systems, including Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook and Copilot and you should be educated to a minimum of Degree level, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.

The postholder will have management responsibility for one member of staff.

We are looking to recruit to this role from 1 October 2026 onwards.

Our benefits

In meeting your performance expectations, you’ll receive an annual salary increase in line with the grade of your role. An annual cost of living uplift will be applied, the timing and implementation of which are subject to the University’s decision. AUB provides generous holiday entitlement, and you will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment. Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on the AUB careers website https://aub.ac.uk/working-at-aub.

AUB has an agile working policy, and flexible working can be considered. If you require support with your application or have any questions about the role or recruitment process, please email [email protected] . If you are disabled, we are committed to supporting you with any reasonable adjustments you require, so please email [email protected] and we’ll be in touch.
