WE ARE BBC STUDIOS

A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.

Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We’re seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to be a key player in driving people initiatives that promote the commerciality, capability and culture within BBC Studios Scripted.

At BBC Studios Scripted, we're home to the programmes audiences know and love – see a list of our programmes and production labels here.
You will partner with senior leaders to drive people strategies - translating strategic priorities into meaningful action, helping to build a high-performing, inclusive and future-focused organisation.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

This is your chance to support the talented people behind some of the nation's most celebrated television.

Reporting into the Head of HR, this role operates within a wider HR community, where there is opportunity to collaborate, partner, and lean on each other for support.

Working in television means operating in a world that's constantly changing; productions scale rapidly, teams come together to deliver extraordinary content, and collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. It's challenging, rewarding and unlike any other HR role.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you'll:

  • Partner with leaders across multiple functions and productions to deliver people plans that support organisational priorities and business performance.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR to shape and implement people strategies that enable growth, transformation and creative excellence.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of culture and engagement initiatives that reinforce the behaviours and expectations set out in The Pledge, promoting respectful, inclusive and high-performing teams.
  • Support leaders to plan workforce requirements across multiple titles, forecasting demand for freelancers, fixed-term employees and specialist creative talent.
  • Provide high-quality coaching, challenge and guidance to leaders, using data, insight and expertise to support decision-making.
  • Design and deliver practical, commercially-minded people solutions that enable teams to perform at their best.
  • Lead and contribute to organisational change, transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Significant experience leading organisational and cultural change across talent, capability, performance and organisational effectiveness, with the ability to translate strategy into delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to build trust while confidently leading challenging conversations, providing constructive challenge and helping leaders address difficult people issues with empathy and clarity.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills, with experience partnering senior leaders to develop talent and improve performance.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, using sound judgement to navigate situations where there isn't always a clear-cut answer and balancing the needs of the business, individuals and wider organisational priorities.
  • Experience using data, insight and evidence to shape effective people solutions.
  • Confidence working within complex stakeholder environments, including experience of union engagement.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Previous HR Business Partner experience within television, media, broadcasting or another creative industry.
  • Experience supporting environments with a significant freelance, contingent or project-based workforce.
  • Exposure to scripted production environments or creative businesses operating across multiple projects simultaneously.

If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

We appreciate your interest in this position and understand how important this opportunity is to you. Due to the high volume of interest we may need to close the application period earlier than anticipated. This step is necessary to ensure we can provide a high level of attention and service to all applicants. Thank you for your understanding.
