PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £55,000 - £60,000 plus £5441 London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Associate HRBP supports the UK and EMEA Channels & Streaming and Commercial News divisions, partnering across six business areas. The role blends strategic and operational HR, driving people initiatives and managing the full employee lifecycle across a complex, matrixed environment, with scope to support multiple regions including the UK, Poland, Netherlands, Dubai and South Africa.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Act as an internal HR consultant, partnering with managers and stakeholders across EMEA
  • Bridge local needs with company-wide HR initiatives, ensuring compliance and relevance
  • Collaborate with HR teams on annual processes (pay, bonus, performance) and policy updates
  • Lead and manage employee relations cases, escalating where appropriate
  • Build strong relationships to identify challenges and deliver proactive HR solutions
  • Work with internal teams to support the full employee lifecycle, including oversight of onboarding, offboarding and payroll inputs
  • Use data and insights to improve people strategies while representing HR across the business

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Proven track record of working in complex / matrixed reporting structures
  • Experience of delivering a strategic HR Partnering approach in a comparable role.
  • Proven experience working in an HR role across EMEA, with understanding of multi-country employment practices and cultural nuances
  • Able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of contacts; strong influencing and persuading skills
  • Analytical skills and the ability to resolve logistically complex problems
  • Compares and contrasts situations and information, identifying patterns and trends which inform subsequent decisions
  • Creates a sense of team spirit, encouraging shared ownership of objectives and deliverables
  • Be a role model for the BBC Values


DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Experience across HR Operations, including payroll.
  • Prior experience of working with people systems (such as SAP)
