PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £60,000 plus £5,441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Finance Business Analyst, Management Reporting, you will play a key role in delivering consolidated management reporting across the BBC Commercial Group. Supporting Executive Committee and Board-level reporting, you will turn complex financial data into meaningful insight, helping senior stakeholders understand performance, risks and opportunities. Working across finance, technology and business teams, you'll help improve reporting quality, strengthen controls and drive better decision-making across the organisation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Support the production of consolidated monthly and quarterly management reporting across the BBC Commercial Group, including Executive Committee and Board-level reporting.
  • Analyse actual and forecast financial performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and key business drivers to support decision-making.
  • Deliver clear, concise financial commentary and presentations, translating complex data into meaningful insight for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support data validation, reconciliations, financial controls and reporting governance activities to ensure reporting outputs are accurate, complete and reliable.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, systems and automation opportunities that enhance efficiency, consistency and insight.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in management reporting within a complex, fast-paced and matrix-structured organisation.
  • Strong understanding of management accounting, financial reporting processes, controls and data governance.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex financial information and translate findings into actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with advanced Excel and analytical capability.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Experience preparing management reporting and insight for senior leadership, Executive Committees and Board-level audiences.
  • Experience working within media, entertainment or another complex commercial organisation.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or similar finance systems.
  • Experience supporting financial controls, audit requirements, ICFR, EMC or related compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements, reporting automation and finance systems enhancements.
