Why did you join the BBC?
I've always been a big fan of BBC Sport and grew up engaging with its content, even sending messages to live texts and getting excited when they were featured. When I made a career change in 2018, my goal was always to work at BBC Sport because of its reach and reputation. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon, with my journey starting in 2019.
What is your current role and what do you enjoy most about it?
I'm a journalist in the Football team, working across content for Premier League club pages online. The role is really varied, from covering press conferences to collaborating with reporters and producing original pieces on key topics. That mix of fast-paced work and creative storytelling, alongside being part of such a supportive team, is what I enjoy most.
What's been your biggest career challenge?
Imposter syndrome has been a big challenge, particularly coming from a non-traditional background and working in a male-dominated industry. I'm still working on it, but regular feedback and focusing on what my unique experiences bring has really helped me build confidence over time.
What advice would you give to someone interested in your role?
Don't worry too much about having every qualification or technical skill. Those can be learned, but curiosity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to keep improving are what really make a difference in this kind of role.
What's the biggest risk you've taken?
Changing careers completely, leaving a role in sustainability to retrain and move into media. It was a big leap into the unknown, and not always easy, but taking that risk has been incredibly rewarding and ultimately led me to where I am today.
